I remember when DoubleBlind first came across my radar. I was struck by the beautiful balance of what I’d call true psychedelic culture, while also being an objective, fact-based journalistic outfit covering a wide range of topics within the psychedelic renaissance. From psychedelic legislation, to Ayahuasca tourism, to good ol’ fashioned “trip” tips, DoubleBlind is a wealth of psychedelic knowledge.

And so was my guest Shelby Hartman. The Co-Founder and CEO of Double Blind. In this episode, we cover everything from microdosing vs macrodosing, decriminalization and legalization, to Shelby’s own personal experiences with plant medicine. A great balance of personal insights and fact-based information, this episode is not to be missed!

About Shelby: Shelby Hartman is the co-founder and CEO of DoubleBlind, a media company and education platform at the forefront of the rapidly growing psychedelic movement. Also a reporter and editor specializing in psychedelics, cannabis, drug policy, and mental health, her work has appeared in VICE, Quartz, the Huffington Post, and Rolling Stone, among others.

Episode 13

There’s a reason I chose this episode to come out the week of my birthday. It’s one of my favorite eps I’ve recorded so far. It’s deep, it’s meaningful, and filled with invaluable nuggets whether you’ve had a psychedelic trip or not. I owe a debt of gratitude to my friend Sam Krumrine for gracing the mic with his poetic words. โœจ

We not only talk about the psychedelic experience but really dive into the deeper spaces of what it means to be human. There are so many invaluable takeaways in this episode.

About Sam: Sam Krumrine is an LA-based actor, singer, and writer. He stands for love, forgiveness, unity, and the freedom of authentic expression. He’s a passionate lover of Mama Nature and is currently traveling the southwest in a camper with his partner. He’s traveled the world performing and teaching with the Young Americans. For recent works, see him in the film “Dead In The Water”, which premiered on the new Lifetime Movie Club app. Keep an eye out for two upcoming releases on his self-produced film “Burn My Money” out May 2021 and a film called “Kill A Prophet” releasing October 2021.

Episode 12

I LOVE music festivals. And I’m not shy about it. Neither is my guest, Joe Cole, who has averaged 15 festivals per year since 2010 (sans 2020, of course). It’s all about the energy, the creativity, the music, the community, and just the outright FUN. There’s no wonder in 2019, an estimated 30 million people attended a major festival in just the U.S. alone.

If you’re interested in learning more about the types of festivals there are, why they keep drawing people like Joe and I back year after year, and want to take a trip down memory lane on some of our favorite festival moments, this is the episode for you!

About Joe: Joe Cole is a creative strategist, artist, dance music enthusiast, Burner, reader, traveler (never a tourist), and most of my days are good hair days. His artist ethos is “Inspire joy” and his life motto is “Risk everything.” He’s trying to figure out what’s next for him while touring the country in a campervan. It almost never rains on him and he has an award-winning guacamole recipe.

Episode 11

The lovely Lauren Bable is this week’s guest on TRIP ON THIS. In this episode, Lauren shares her story about navigating some difficult experiences when she first moved to LA from Australia, followed by a major health scare when she learned she had a brain tumor five years ago.

Though thankfully physically recovered now, those who have dealt with any serious health scares or trauma know the feelings that come with those events can stay long after the experience is over. Lauren discusses how her recent psychedelic trips were life changing experiences for her and has brought a whole new level of clarity and ACTION to her healing journey.

Episode 10

Jordan Kahana is a true adventurer at heart. Such an adventurer in fact, that the universe came along and dropped two stray puppies in his lap during a road trip in Sedona that changed the trajectory of his life. The universe really does work in mysterious ways.

In this ep, Jordan tells his story about how he came upon his two pups, Zeus and Sedona, and how his life became a wild ride after that creating content and roadtripping around the U.S. with his two pups in tow. But as we know, there’s another type of adventure out there — the inward exploration one experiences on a psychedelic. We share psychedelic stories and have some laughs about human nature and some of the odd quirks that can happen during a psychedelic trip.
